Names

Do you ever think the writers of House of Cards were ever like, "Hey, what do we name this wacky show? I know, Game of Thrones! Crap, that's taken? Game of Cards! Too close? Hmmm ..."

We can agree, right, that Frank Underwood is the Cersei Lannister? Excellent.

  1. HOC is based on a 1990s miniseries and book, so they were there first. Sorry, GoT. I just finished watching HOC. It started off AMAZING, then slowed down, then got horrible, then got good again by the end (though not as great at the first episodes). Hopefully next season they give his wife more to do.

    1. Agreed. I was really into it initially, and then it lost me. (Particularly when Claire was stuck in NYC for an interminable amount of time -- boring! -- and when (Character) (actioned) Peter Russo, which I felt strained credulity.) (*Censored for anyone who isn't finished watching*)

I finished mostly out of curiosity, and I hope Season 2 is better.

Good to know it was based on something else.

    2. It lost me with the brick/CNN debate episode. And that Claire/NYC storyline was TERRIBLE. Robin Wright deserved better. But things really picked up in the final 2 eps. I'll give season 2 a shot. Now I'm on the hunt for a new show to watch. Have you watched Breaking Bad?

  2. Ugh, I forgot about that stupid brick/CNN episode. Yeah, I think it really picked up in the end, but I still kind of can't believe that a character as smart as Frank can think he can get away with (*censored again*). There are way too many loose ends there, and I was really shocked that a perfectionist like him would just be like, "Yep, that'll do it."

Breaking Bad is awesome, I think you'll really like it. And Homeland Season 1 (I haven't seen Season 2).

  3. I'm
starting up a internet website directory and was
wanting to know if I can submit your site? I'm trying
to mature my directory gradually by hand so that it
maintains good quality. I will make sure
and put your website in the appropriate category and I'll
also use, "Blogger: And then she was like blah blah blah" as your anchor text.
Be sure to let me know if this is alright with you by e-mailing me at: blanche-scroggins@yahoo.de.
    Thanks
