Who knew?

I had always assumed I wouldn't like being a stay-at-home-mom.  This is nothing against SAHMs, just an acknowledgment of my own personality quirks.  (They are many.  I know, you're shocked.)

But I must say, staying at home with baby dog today while I telework is pretty much the bomb.com, and it's not just because I'm still in my jammies.

(Yes, if you read this post a certain way, you could reach the conclusion that (a) I don't find homemaking rewarding and (b) just compared a pet to a human baby.  Just ignore those implications, ok?)

  1. I love being a SAHD, but I don't have any kids which might help my love of that.

  2. I'm laughing.
Took me like FIVE years to be okay with staying home. (Been doing it BARELY longer than that) And yes, there are days when Mike begrudgingly walks out in his suit, and I smile knowing that if I want to, I don't have to change ALL DAY.

And yeah, scraping peanut butter off the floor isn't always fulfilling...

  3. Oh my gosh, that's one of the cutest puppies I've seen in a long time.

    I don't think I'd like being a SAHM. Then again, I don't think I'd like being a mom period.

  4. Your dog is in a playpen? ooohkay. I got (b) all day long. If you dress it, I'm outta here. Where are you registered btw?

  6. Children are sort of like pets when they're really little. As a SAHM, I understand what you're saying and I'm not offended at all. Thanks for the laugh!

  7. Really cute puppy and I'm exactly the same. I went back to writing after my second was born and I wish I had done that with my first instead of gadding about all over NZ when I lived (oh who am I kidding, where are the hot pools round here?)

  8. Thanks everyone, ya'll are sweet - and I'm glad to know I haven't completely lost my mind. ;)

Skippy - he's in a baby playpen because my friends let me borrow it, haha. It has actually housed a yorkie, two shitzu-maltese hybrids, and now little Spence. His real crate hasn't arrived yet.

He's theoretically AKC register-able, but I may get lazy and not send in his paperwork since I don't plan to breed him anyway.

  10. Ohhhhh, that's so sweet! I'm not registered anywhere, but if you have to send something, he likes toys that squeak or things that taste nice. ;)

  11. Email me please....skippyaveo @ gmail dot com. I would love to send him puppy gifts :)

I still think the playpen thing is brilliant. Dang, wish I had thought of it when Spot was a pup. [You would think with this many kids I would've had one hanging around. grrr]
